Responsibilities
- Safely operate and drive a heavy or tractor-trailer truck through various terrains and weather conditions.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring it is secured properly to prevent damage.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle service, and cargo information.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and follow all company protocols.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while on the road.
- Assist in the training of new drivers as needed.
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a truck driver; previous experience with logistics companies is a plus.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures in the trucking industry.
- Ability to operate a variety of vehicles, including those with manual transmissions.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy loads as required.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends if necessary.
