Responsibilities

• Develop and implement privacy-enhancing features and anti-tracking capabilities within the Firefox web browser to safeguard user data.
• Integrate data sanitization techniques to eliminate unhealthy user tracking methodologies.
• Enhance the architecture of Gecko, the underlying browser engine of Firefox, to improve performance and security.
• Write efficient and maintainable code utilizing C++, JavaScript, and Rust.
• Collaborate with a distributed team across different time zones, primarily focusing on Europe and the US-East.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in software development, with a strong emphasis on privacy and security.
• Proven experience in building complex applications using C++, JavaScript, and Rust.
• Strong understanding of web technologies and privacy best practices.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote, asynchronous team environment.
