Responsibilities
- Develop and implement privacy-enhancing features and anti-tracking capabilities within the Firefox web browser to safeguard user data.
- Integrate data sanitization techniques to eliminate unhealthy user tracking methodologies.
- Enhance the architecture of Gecko, the underlying browser engine of Firefox, to improve performance and security.
- Write efficient and maintainable code utilizing C++, JavaScript, and Rust.
- Collaborate with a distributed team across different time zones, primarily focusing on Europe and the US-East.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in software development, with a strong emphasis on privacy and security.
- Proven experience in building complex applications using C++, JavaScript, and Rust.
- Strong understanding of web technologies and privacy best practices.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote, asynchronous team environment.
