Responsibilities

  • Serve as a forester or forest ecologist on various projects across multiple states, with a focus on ongoing initiatives in Oregon.
  • Identify potential new clients and project opportunities nationwide in collaboration with internal team members.
  • Lead and organize field data collection related to forestry and ecology, ensuring accurate and comprehensive data gathering.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation outlining findings from fieldwork, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Advise team members on forest planning, impact assessments, and NEPA analysis related to federal land management.
  • Conduct ecological surveys and assessments to evaluate impacts on sensitive resources within federal lands.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including the US Forest Service, to drive successful project outcomes.
  • Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on best practices in forestry management and ecological assessments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in federal land management, forest planning, or related disciplines.
  • Proven expertise in NEPA analysis and biological/ecological surveys.
  • Strong technical writing skills with experience in producing biological reports and documentation.
  • Demonstrated success in working with the US Forest Service and understanding federal land regulations.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to project management.
  • Willingness to travel for fieldwork and project meetings as required.
