Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations at the ICE detention center, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and facility guidelines.
- Manage and lead a team of staff, promoting a safe and respectful environment for both detainees and employees.
- Implement programs and services aimed at supporting the well-being and rehabilitation of detainees.
- Conduct regular training sessions for staff on policies, procedures, and best practices in detention management.
- Coordinate with local law enforcement and community organizations to foster positive relations and address any concerns.
- Monitor the facility for adherence to health, safety, and security standards.
- Compile reports and data as required by management and government agencies.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, or a related field.
- Proven experience in detention management or a similar role, preferably in a correctional or law enforcement setting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of resolving conflicts and fostering teamwork.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
- Knowledge of federal immigration laws and detainee rights is preferred.
