Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer focused on our Referential Data Platform, you will play a critical role in enhancing the REDAPL system. Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing a query engine that facilitates efficient relationship traversals for high-demand workloads.
• Leading and collaborating on projects both within the platform and across different teams.
• Contributing to key technical decisions surrounding data ingestion, processing, and query pipelines.
• Working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate REDAPL with various Datadog products, including Cloud Security Posture Management, Resource Catalog, and Cloud Cost Management.
• Optimizing system performance to handle over 4.5 million updates per second.
• Participating in code reviews and mentoring junior engineers to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on backend development.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go.
• Experience with distributed systems and data processing frameworks.
• Strong understanding of database management and query optimization techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and infrastructure is a plus.
