Job Summary
Tines is on the lookout for a highly strategic and business-oriented Lead Counsel for Commercial and Compliance to join our expanding Legal team. This role is pivotal in shaping our legal strategies and ensuring compliance across various business operations. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of legal expertise and a strong understanding of business dynamics, enabling them to contribute effectively to our mission of delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal guidance on commercial agreements and compliance matters, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Draft, negotiate, and review a variety of commercial contracts, including vendor agreements, customer contracts, and partnership agreements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Product, and Engineering, to provide legal support and mitigate risks.
- Develop and implement compliance programs to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
- Monitor changes in legislation and industry regulations that may impact the company and advise senior management accordingly.
- Lead compliance training initiatives to educate employees on legal and ethical standards.
- Manage relationships with external legal advisors and coordinate legal resources to optimize efficiency.
- Foster a culture of integrity and accountability within the organization by promoting ethical practices.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial law and compliance, preferably in a technology or software environment.
- Strong understanding of data privacy laws, intellectual property rights, and regulatory compliance.
- Exceptional negotiation and drafting skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on practical solutions.
