Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior legal leader and strategic advisor to the executive team.
• Oversee all legal matters across DuckDuckGo’s expanding product portfolio.
• Navigate a complex regulatory environment and manage key commercial relationships.
• Lead and develop a high-performing legal team.
• Personally manage significant legal matters, including high-stakes regulatory and competition proceedings.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements.
• Advise on corporate governance, compliance, and risk management strategies.
• Ensure legal compliance across all business operations and product offerings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align legal strategies with business objectives.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in the United States.
• 10+ years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven expertise in regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and commercial law.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience with complex agreements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a remote-first environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
