Responsibilities

• Own and document the cloud data architecture across a multi-cloud environment, focusing primarily on Azure and Azure Databricks.
• Lead modernization efforts in data architecture, which includes developing migration strategies, data modeling, and platform engineering.
• Design and implement governance, security, and compliance strategies for a platform that manages sensitive Veteran Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Enable data science and AI/ML capabilities on the platform, including infrastructure for model deployment and data pipelines.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analytics teams, and business stakeholders to identify data needs and ensure effective data utilization.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continually improve the platform and data architecture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Cloud Data Architect or in a similar role, particularly in designing and implementing data architectures in a multi-cloud environment.
• Strong expertise in Azure and Azure Databricks, with a solid understanding of data governance and compliance regulations.
• Experience with data modeling techniques and familiarity with AI/ML concepts.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
