Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Human Resources Department, ensuring alignment with the city’s strategic goals.
- Develop and implement innovative strategies to improve employment access and retention across various departments.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and develop recruitment plans that attract diverse talent.
- Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with regulations.
- Implement training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and career progression.
- Monitor and analyze employee turnover rates and develop targeted interventions to improve retention.
- Foster a positive workplace culture that promotes inclusivity and employee engagement.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on HR-related matters, providing insights and recommendations.
- Prepare and present reports on HR metrics and initiatives to the City Manager and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Human Resources management, preferably in the public sector.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing HR strategies that drive organizational performance.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage change effectively.
