Responsibilities
- Process and validate payroll tax across various jurisdictions to ensure compliance.
- Maintain and review employee tax setups, including work and resident jurisdictions as well as State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) applicability.
- Review, research, and respond to various payroll tax notices from federal, state, and local tax authorities.
- Support payroll tax reconciliations, including quarterly and year-end balancing activities.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and guidelines.
- Identify and proactively resolve discrepancies in payroll tax data and processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline payroll tax processes and improve efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll tax compliance or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to manage complex tax data.
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Effective communication skills to interact with tax authorities and internal stakeholders.
