About the Role
We are seeking a versatile Advisory Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic Boulder R&D team. This position involves working on innovative projects across various domains including inkjet technology, robotics, machine vision, and renewable energy. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in the mechanical and electromechanical design process, from initial proof-of-concept through to production hardware.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the mechanical and electromechanical design from ideation to production, ensuring high-quality outcomes at each stage.
- Participate in the development of a renewable energy program focused on next-generation solar cell manufacturing.
- Engage in the design of a collaborative palletizing system, working towards CE marking and contract manufacturing standards.
- Develop continuous-feed inkjet inspection platforms and support their integration within our automation product roadmap.
- When mechanical workloads decrease, transition into software development using Python and C++ for robotics and image processing.
- Utilize agentic AI tooling, including Claude Code, to enhance both software and hardware projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in mechanical and electromechanical design.
- Strong knowledge of robotics and automation systems.
- Experience with industrial control panels, electrical and pneumatic systems.
- Familiarity with design tools and software, particularly in Python and C++.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
