About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Security Engineer to join our Infrastructure Security (InfraSec) team. This role is crucial in safeguarding the core of OpenAI's research and production environments. Your work will encompass a wide range of infrastructures, including GPU supercomputing clusters, multi-cloud infrastructures, data centers, networking, and storage systems that support our advanced AI models. Responsibilities
- Design and implement security controls across multiple layers including physical hardware, firmware, and software.
- Enhance the security measures for Kubernetes clusters and service meshes.
- Secure data storage solutions and access pathways for sensitive model weights and user data.
- Conduct risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into the development lifecycle.
- Stay up to date with the latest security trends, threats, and technology advancements.
- Develop and maintain documentation for security policies, procedures, and controls.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on security protocols and practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Proven experience working in a cybersecurity role with a focus on infrastructure security.
- Strong knowledge of security protocols, standards, and best practices.
- Experience with cloud environments, particularly AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with container orchestration systems like Kubernetes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) are a plus.
