About the Role

The Community Engagement Lead will act as the primary liaison between our organization and the communities where we are planning to develop data centers, specifically in Effingham County and the greater Savannah Metropolitan Area. This position is crucial in building strong, trust-based relationships with local stakeholders, ensuring proactive communication about our projects, and integrating community priorities into our development approach. The role encompasses engagement, communications, and reputation management, collaborating closely with the Economic Development and Environmental teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with local leaders, community organizations, NGOs, and residents.
• Develop and implement community engagement strategies that align with project goals.
• Communicate project updates and gather feedback from the community to ensure their concerns and priorities are addressed.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including Economic Development and Environmental, to align community interests with project plans.
• Organize and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and events to promote transparency and trust.
• Monitor community sentiment and report findings to the leadership team to enhance project integration.
• Manage social media and public relations efforts to promote positive engagement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Community Development, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in community engagement, public relations, or stakeholder management.
• Proven ability to build relationships with diverse groups and communicate effectively.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Familiarity with local community dynamics and issues in Effingham County and the Savannah area.
