Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers in the development of high-quality cloud solutions.
• Collaborate closely with major cloud providers such as Amazon, Microsoft, and Google to enhance the performance of Ubuntu in their environments.
• Oversee the building, testing, and publishing of base Ubuntu images utilized by millions globally.
• Ensure optimal performance and security of cloud infrastructures through rigorous quality assurance processes.
• Drive the innovation of specialized images tailored for specific cloud purposes.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables to meet customer requirements and expectations.
• Facilitate two to four team meetings annually in various global locations to align on strategy and execution.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the team.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a leadership role within software engineering, particularly in cloud computing.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Golang.
• Experience with open source software, especially within the context of cloud solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation in technology.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote environment and manage teams across different time zones.
