About the Role

As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer at our company, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the personalization of the Headspace experience. You will be part of a dynamic and innovative AI & Machine Learning group that focuses on improving user experiences for our members and clinicians through the mindful application of AI. Your expertise will contribute to the development of conversational AI systems and personalized content recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Lead the design and development of advanced recommender systems for meditation and mindfulness content.
• Backend Services: Collaborate in building backend services that support a personalized member experience, including search functionalities and user knowledge graphs.
• Conversational AI: Develop and enhance conversational AI memory systems to provide tailored user interactions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, UX designers, and data scientists to align on project objectives and deliverables.
• Deployment and Adoption: Guide the deployment of machine learning solutions and ensure their successful adoption within the organization.
• Innovation: Stay updated with the latest advancements in machine learning and AI technologies to drive innovation in our solutions.

Requirements

• Experience: Proven experience in machine learning, with a focus on recommender systems and personalization.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and familiarity with machine learning frameworks.
• Leadership: Previous experience in a technical leadership role, mentoring junior engineers is a plus.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and a creative approach to solving complex problems.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
