Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives aimed at developing sustainable urban environments in Somalia.
• Collaborate with local governments and community organizations to identify key areas for development and investment.
• Design and implement strategies to create job opportunities within the construction and urban planning sectors.
• Oversee project management processes to ensure timely and efficient delivery of urban infrastructure projects.
• Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet evolving community needs.
• Engage with stakeholders at all levels to foster partnerships that support urban resilience and job creation.
• Conduct research and analysis on best practices in urban development to inform policy recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in urban development, construction management, or related fields.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects.
• Strong understanding of the socio-economic challenges facing urban areas in developing countries.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in diverse teams.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Somali is a plus.
• Willingness to travel to Somalia and work in challenging environments.
