Responsibilities

• Teach courses in Emergency and Disaster Management primarily in Spanish, ensuring that all students receive a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.
• Engage with students through various online platforms, facilitating discussions and providing timely feedback on assignments.
• Develop course materials that enhance the learning experience and adhere to the American Public University System (APUS) guidelines.
• Maintain regular communication with students to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness and stay current with best practices in online education.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to improve course offerings and student retention efforts.

Requirements

• Fluency in both English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
• A Master’s degree in Emergency Management, Disaster Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Prior teaching experience in higher education, preferably in an online environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to student engagement and success.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team.
• Familiarity with online learning technologies and instructional design principles is a plus.
