Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal counsel on privacy laws and regulations impacting the organization, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant data protection laws.
  • Advise on privacy-related issues in the development, implementation, and maintenance of company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and compliance to ensure privacy compliance in all operations.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments and manage data protection impact assessments (DPIAs).
  • Monitor and analyze changes in privacy laws and regulations and advise internal stakeholders accordingly.
  • Support the investigation and resolution of privacy incidents and data breaches, including liaising with regulatory bodies as necessary.
  • Develop, deliver, and oversee training programs related to data privacy and compliance for employees.
  • Participate in the development and enhancement of privacy governance frameworks and reporting mechanisms.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school, with admission to practice law in the UK.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in privacy law, preferably in a technology or cybersecurity environment.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant privacy regulations and standards, including GDPR, CCPA, and others.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex legal and business issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in conducting training and awareness programs on privacy and compliance topics.
