Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal counsel on privacy laws and regulations impacting the organization, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant data protection laws.
- Advise on privacy-related issues in the development, implementation, and maintenance of company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and compliance to ensure privacy compliance in all operations.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments and manage data protection impact assessments (DPIAs).
- Monitor and analyze changes in privacy laws and regulations and advise internal stakeholders accordingly.
- Support the investigation and resolution of privacy incidents and data breaches, including liaising with regulatory bodies as necessary.
- Develop, deliver, and oversee training programs related to data privacy and compliance for employees.
- Participate in the development and enhancement of privacy governance frameworks and reporting mechanisms.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school, with admission to practice law in the UK.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in privacy law, preferably in a technology or cybersecurity environment.
- Strong knowledge of relevant privacy regulations and standards, including GDPR, CCPA, and others.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex legal and business issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in conducting training and awareness programs on privacy and compliance topics.
