Responsibilities

• Design and implement enhancements to the libraft, dqlite, and go-dqlite components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate dqlite into MicroK8s, LXD, and other projects.
• Contribute to the development of a pure C library and Go package for dqlite.
• Develop bindings for additional languages such as Python to expand the usability of dqlite.
• Participate in code reviews, ensuring high standards of code quality and performance.
• Engage in troubleshooting and debugging to resolve issues in the database environment.
• Document development processes and provide technical support to team members.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a software developer, specifically with C and Golang programming languages.
• Strong understanding of database systems, particularly SQLite and distributed databases.
• Familiarity with consensus algorithms, especially the Raft protocol.
• Experience with cloud environments and containerization technologies, such as Kubernetes and LXD.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with a global team.
