Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions for students preparing for the AMC 8 and AMC 10 mathematics competitions.
• Develop personalized lesson plans that address the unique learning styles and needs of each student.
• Assist students in enhancing their problem-solving skills and mathematical reasoning through targeted practice and feedback.
• Guide students in developing effective competition strategies and time management skills.
• Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods to ensure understanding and retention of concepts.
• Communicate regularly with students and parents to provide updates on progress and areas for improvement.
• Stay current with competition formats and mathematics curriculum to ensure relevant and effective tutoring.

Requirements

• Strong background in mathematics, preferably with experience in competition-level math.
• Previous tutoring or teaching experience, especially in a remote setting, is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively convey mathematical concepts to students.
• Ability to create engaging and interactive lessons that motivate students.
• Familiarity with the AMC competition structure and content is a plus.
• Must be available to work part-time, less than 20 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling.
• Access to a reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace for conducting tutoring sessions.
