Responsibilities

As a Machine Learning Engineering Manager on Reddit's Engagement Modeling Team, you will lead the design and development of advanced machine learning models aimed at increasing on-platform user engagement, particularly in ads interaction metrics such as click-through rates and video view-throughs. You will drive strategic technical decisions, manage a talented team of engineers and data scientists, and collaborate closely with product managers and cross-functional partners to align modeling efforts with business goals.

Your leadership will be essential in scaling Reddit’s advertising prediction models and advancing state-of-the-art methodologies. You will oversee the entire machine learning lifecycle, from research and experimentation to deployment and monitoring, ensuring models deliver impactful and reliable results. Mentoring team members, fostering innovation, and promoting best practices in coding, testing, and data pipeline design will also be key aspects of your role.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing machine learning engineering teams, preferably within advertising technology or user engagement domains.
• Strong expertise in predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and machine learning algorithms.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business strategies and influence stakeholders.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Familiarity with large-scale data processing, feature engineering, and model deployment in production environments.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative leadership style to work effectively with diverse technical and non-technical teams.
• Experience working remotely and managing distributed teams is a plus.
