Responsibilities
As the Lead Cloud Network Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting and engineering cloud-native and hybrid networking solutions that span multiple public cloud platforms including AWS and Azure. You will design scalable VPC and VNet architectures, establish secure and resilient connectivity patterns, and develop shared network services leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation-first practices.
Your role involves close collaboration with cloud platform engineers, network specialists, security teams, and application developers to ensure network services are highly available, secure, and accessible via self-service portals. You will lead initiatives to enhance network governance and optimize connectivity to support large-scale cloud adoption within the enterprise.
Key duties include:
- Designing and implementing cloud and hybrid network architectures across AWS, Azure, and other platforms
- Developing automated infrastructure deployments using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Ensuring network services meet security, reliability, and compliance standards
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate network solutions with cloud and application environments
- Monitoring and troubleshooting network performance and connectivity issues
- Driving continuous improvement and adoption of best practices in cloud networking
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience in cloud network engineering with expertise in AWS and Azure networking components such as VPC, VNet, Transit Gateway, and VPN
- Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates
- Experience designing hybrid cloud network architectures that integrate on-premises and cloud environments
- Solid understanding of network security principles including firewalls, segmentation, and encryption
- Proficiency with automation and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a global, multi-disciplinary team
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Microsoft Azure Networking) are highly desirable
