About the Role

Spreedly is looking for a Controller to lead our accounting function and help build a more automated, scalable operating environment. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you'll own accounting across the business while partnering closely with FP&A and cross-functional leaders. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to take a pivotal role in a fast-paced, innovative company.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and maintain accurate financial records.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with the finance team to prepare budgets and forecasts, providing strategic insights to support business decisions.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors, facilitating audits and compliance requirements.
• Support the development and maintenance of automated financial systems to enhance reporting capabilities.
• Provide mentorship and leadership to the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Experience with financial software and ERP systems; familiarity with payment processing is a plus.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
