Responsibilities

• Lead a dedicated team of security engineers to enhance the security framework of Ubuntu.
• Develop and implement strategies to address emerging security threats and vulnerabilities.
• Engage with the community and customers to gather feedback and improve security measures.
• Coordinate with multiple engineering teams to ensure a cohesive approach to security across all projects.
• Monitor and respond to CVEs and other security issues throughout the lifecycle of Canonical products.
• Provide line management and career guidance to team members, fostering an environment of growth and innovation.
• Drive initiatives that promote best practices in security within the open-source ecosystem.
• Advocate for security awareness and training across the engineering organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in security engineering, software development, or a related area.
• Strong understanding of Linux systems, particularly Ubuntu.
• Experience with managing engineering teams and developing talent.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in identifying security vulnerabilities and implementing effective solutions.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, open-source environment.
