Responsibilities
- Conduct testing on various medical diagnostic equipment including mammographic, radiographic, and ultrasound devices.
- Perform radiation shielding surveys to determine the appropriate lead thickness for safety measures.
- Evaluate lead content in personal protective equipment, such as lead aprons, ensuring compliance for medical staff.
- Provide consulting services on radiation safety, including conducting quarterly audits and participating in radiation safety committee meetings.
- Travel independently to different client locations to offer on-site support and address any radiation-related inquiries from healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Medical Physics or a related field.
- Certification by the American Board of Radiology or equivalent.
- Proven experience in medical health physics or a similar role.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with healthcare teams.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Willingness to travel to various client sites as required.
