Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of privacy and compliance programs within the organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all products and services adhere to relevant privacy laws and regulations.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments and audits to identify potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Stay current on privacy legislation and industry best practices, ensuring the organization remains compliant.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on privacy policies and compliance obligations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for privacy-related inquiries and issues.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, to advocate for the organization’s privacy interests.
- Monitor and report on compliance metrics to leadership and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in law, business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in privacy, compliance, or related areas, preferably in a technology or software environment.
- Strong knowledge of global privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR and CCPA.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate complex privacy concepts to a variety of audiences.
- Proficient in privacy compliance tools and methodologies.
- Experience working in an open-source environment is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote team setting.
