Position Summary
The Alliance Manager will play an essential role in facilitating successful external collaborations that accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into clinically actionable molecular solutions. This position requires a robust scientific understanding of translational medicine, coupled with exceptional relationship management, legal and contracting expertise, and strategic oversight.
Core Responsibilities
- Strategic Alliance Leadership & Ingestion: Serve as the primary relationship manager for strategic external oncology alliances, transitioning from a vendor role to building long-term, trust-based collaborations.
- Drive Oncology Partnerships: Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in oncology, ensuring the integration of Natera’s technology into external drug development pipelines.
- Oversee Study Intake: Manage the high-level tracking and overview of incoming studies, ensuring a clear understanding of each study's clinical priority and alignment with Natera's strategic goals.
- Maximize Portfolio Value: Lead the initial assessment of partnerships, ensuring a thorough understanding of the potential value each collaboration may bring.
- Contract Negotiations: Coordinate and support contract negotiations with partners, ensuring that the agreements align with Natera’s strategic objectives while protecting our data and secondary-use interests.
- Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor the performance of partnerships, providing regular updates and insights to internal stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various teams, including R&D, legal, and marketing, to ensure cohesive execution of partnership strategies and initiatives.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in alliance management or business development in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong understanding of translational medicine and drug development processes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Knowledge of legal and contracting principles related to partnership agreements.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively in a fast-paced environment.
