Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural systems for various defense-related projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers and other engineers, to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
• Conduct site visits and inspections as needed, particularly in Chesapeake and Norfolk, VA, to assess project requirements and challenges.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and interns, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Prepare detailed engineering reports and documentation, ensuring clarity and accuracy in all communications.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in structural engineering, integrating new technologies and methodologies into projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in defense or government projects.
• Strong understanding of engineering software and tools related to structural analysis and design.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Must be eligible to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
