About the Role

Reddit is building a dedicated Ads ML Efficiency function aimed at making model training and inference significantly faster, more cost-effective, safer, and scalable. As the Engineering Manager for this pivotal team, you will lead a group of talented engineers focused on optimizing models, enhancing training efficiency, enabling GPU utilization, conducting load testing, developing model performance tools, and establishing efficiency standards across Ads ML.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers specializing in machine learning and software development.
• Oversee the optimization of machine learning models to improve performance and reduce operational costs.
• Develop and implement strategies for training efficiency and GPU enablement.
• Conduct load testing to ensure robust model performance under varying conditions.
• Create and maintain tools for monitoring model performance and efficiency.
• Establish best practices and guardrails to enhance the reliability and scalability of Ads ML functions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering projects with business objectives.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the team and across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on machine learning or artificial intelligence.
• Proven experience in a leadership role, managing engineering teams and projects.
• Strong understanding of machine learning frameworks and GPU computing.
• Experience with performance optimization and load testing methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
