Responsibilities

• Negotiate and review trading documents related to the Uncleared Margin Rules (UMR) alongside other derivative documentation.
• Ensure that all agreed terms align with regulatory requirements and internal risk/collateral policies, effectively capturing margin, collateral, and segregation terms.
• Provide legal advice and support to ensure compliance with UMR regulations across various products.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including risk management and trading teams, to facilitate understanding of UMR implications.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry trends affecting derivatives and margin requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience in negotiating derivatives and ISDA documentation, with a particular focus on UMR-related margin and collateral terms.
• Strong understanding of OTC derivatives, including concepts associated with margin, collateral, and UMR regulations.
• Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) or equivalent experience as a negotiator in the financial services sector or a reputable law firm.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills, capable of navigating complex legal issues.
