Job Overview

The African Union is seeking a dedicated Administrative Assistant to support the operations of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) in Ethiopia. This role is integral to the smooth functioning of the team and will involve a variety of administrative tasks to ensure operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the AfCFTA team, including managing schedules, organizing meetings, and maintaining files.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other documents as required.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and logistics for team members attending events and meetings.
  • Act as a point of contact for internal and external communications, ensuring timely responses.
  • Maintain and update databases and records to ensure accuracy and accessibility of information.
  • Support the planning and execution of workshops, conferences, and other events related to AfCFTA operations.
  • Assist with budgeting and financial tracking related to administrative expenses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience, preferably in a similar environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of AfCFTA and trade-related issues in Africa is a plus.
