Responsibilities
- Support and enhance the organisation's AML/CTF compliance framework, ensuring compliance with AUSTRAC obligations, conducting customer due diligence, and implementing monitoring and risk assessment processes.
- Assist in maintaining regulatory compliance across financial services, consumer protection, privacy, and marketing legislation, which includes reviewing customer communications and business practices.
- Engage in risk, compliance, and governance activities to align with the organisation’s strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the Legal, Risk, and Compliance team to provide expert advice on compliance issues and facilitate training sessions for staff.
- Monitor changes in legislation and industry standards to ensure the company's operations remain compliant and up-to-date.
- Develop and maintain compliance reports and documentation, ensuring thorough record-keeping and communication with stakeholders.
- Participate in audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of compliance controls and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related role, preferably within the financial services or fintech industry.
- In-depth knowledge of AML/CTF regulations and compliance practices, particularly in the Australian context.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficient in compliance management software and tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
