Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product teams to gather and analyze requirements for new features and enhancements.
• Design and develop scalable and high-performance systems that align with the architecture of Fivetran’s Managed Data Lake.
• Contribute to the technical architecture and design principles for the Managed Data Lake product offering.
• Implement and advance open-source technologies to ensure the product remains at the forefront of innovation.
• Set technical standards and best practices to elevate engineering quality across the organization.
• Participate in code reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, and Azure to deploy and manage data solutions.
• Utilize technologies including Java, C++, Postgres, and Kubernetes in the development process.

Requirements

• Proven experience in software engineering with a strong background in data systems and architectures.
• Expertise in programming languages such as Java and C++, and familiarity with database technologies like Postgres.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of data lake technologies, including Iceberg, Delta Lake, and Parquet.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about complex engineering challenges.
• Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
