Responsibilities
- Perform telepharmacy duties including remote order entry, order verification, and drug verification.
- Provide patient and staff counseling to ensure safe medication practices.
- Support multiple clients while utilizing various pharmacy information systems (PIS).
- Deliver proactive clinical pharmacy services, adhering to both client-specific and organizational policies.
- Offer drug information and therapeutic recommendations, including dosing adjustments and interaction checks.
- Maintain knowledge of intravenous (IV) fluids, total parenteral nutrition (TPN), narcotic and cardiac drips, IV antibiotics, chemotherapy, and more.
- Understand and account for the unique considerations of special populations including pediatric, geriatric, pregnant/nursing, and those with renal/hepatic impairments.
Requirements
- Active pharmacist license in the state(s) you will be servicing.
- Experience in a pharmacy setting, preferably in telepharmacy or inpatient care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively counsel patients and collaborate with healthcare teams.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, overnights, and weekends.
- Proficiency in utilizing pharmacy information systems.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in clinical pharmacy.
